The Air Jordan 14 GS “Doernbecher 2019” is the youth sizing of patient Ethan Ellis’s creation for 2019’s Nike Doernbecher Freestyle series. Ellis, a lifelong fan of Texas Christian Horned Frogs athletics, decides to feature team-specific details to his version of what the perfect Air Jordan 14 should look like. Based off the TCU color palette, the upper sports a crinkled purple texture on the midfoot and heel. Contrasting black nubuck can be found on the toe, collar and heel. An “EE” logo for his initials replaces traditional Jumpman branding near the collar. The young patient includes details specific to his journey including the number of heart surgeries he has endured, the city of his heart transplant and the name of a friend who went through a similar treatment as himself. The Air Jordan 14 GS “Doernbecher 2019” was released on December 7, 2019.
